The 3 Cultures Festival wants to continue to enhance the musical line-up this year with a carefully selected programme as far as concerts are concerned, providing  an opportunity for groups and artists whose music and styles fit perfectly with the image we wish to convey at the festival.
Two stages, dedicated for our concerts, one of them, the casa del Apero, an old building from the  XVII century currently the Cultural centre where you can enjoy musical performances in much more intimate surroundings. The Apero is the stage for concerts on Friday, Saturday and Sunday at 21:30, entrance just 3€.

The Plaza de las 3 Culturas is the setting for larger concerts, live music on Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, no entrance fee.

Artists such as Chambao, Maria del Mar Bonet, Radio tarifa, Ojos de Brujo, Los Derviches del Cairo, Concha Buika, Eliseo Parra, Klezmatica, Dhoad, Paxarino, Medina Azahara, Pasion Vega, Santa Makairo, Orkestar and Eduardo Paniagua have graced the stages at the festival, firmly demonstrating a strong musical talent of the highest level.
OREKA TX
THURSDAY 25TH , 23:30: PLAZA DE LAS 3 CULTURAS (Free entrance)
Oreka TX have travelled from 2003-2005 with their txalparta, a unique musical instrument played by two people. They have met with musicians from far-away places from Mongolia to the Sahara and Lapland to India.

conciertos_2011_aziza Aziza Brahim Maichan is a Saharan singer and percussionist born in the refugee camps of Hammada in Tinduf, Algeria.

Apart from interpreting his own compositions, Aziza Brahim’s intention is to put music to the poems from his grandmother, Ljadra Mint Mabruk, known as the rifle poet.

This way he can pay tribute and claim his voice as one of the essential cultural poets of his country.
NIDI D’ARAC

conciertos_2011_nidi_darac Nidi d’Arac nos descubre la cultura popular salentina, una de las más antiguas y fascinantes de las culturas de la Aldea Global, con un proyecto que le dice al mundo que la tradición musical del sur de Italia está muy viva y que, a través de fórmulas de actulización estética, quiere comunicar valores de modernidad y universalidad.

Fusión de lo más nuevo y lo más tradicional para producir una sensación seductora que atrapa por completo. Así es la música de NIDI D'ARAC, curtida pero popular, urbana y arcaica.
MINISTRILES HISPALENSIS
SATURDAY 27TH, 21:30HRS, CASA DEL APERO

ministriles Ensemble vocal group of minstels, soprano, tenor and bass trained for this programme. On one side there is the cornet, sackbut soprano, tenor and bass, whilst on the other side there is an organ.

This concert is like a descriptive journey using original instruments depending on the era, Christian music from the XV and XVII centuries both in Spain and Europe.
LUAR LA NUBRE
SATURDAY 27TH, 23:30HRS PLAZA DEL LAS 3 CULTURAS (Free entrance)
conciertos_2011_luar_na_lubre Celebrating their 25th anniversary, winners of 9 music awards, Luar Na Lubre are here to present their latest work, “Solsticio” where they musically fuse the coexistence between the religious and the pagan and the strength of tradition before the passage of time. A title full of meaning with which they want to define a mixture of traditional music and popular Galician music with our incomparable and rich medieval music.

Pentalfa is an initiative arising from the need for spontaneous music without major technical deployments and intends to be effective under any circumstances and context.

Pentalfa are the 5 angles of a star representing the music and the 5 musicians are the points of each of the angles. Magic and music through the senses, the cosmos and mother earth.
MELECH MECHAYA

From Hungary to Israel, from the Balkans to New York, the festivities and celebrations finish with empty seats and everyone on their feet.
